This project is inspired by Cold Lazarus, a science fiction TV series written by Dennis Potter.
I wanted to do some model-making so I set myself the project of creating a physical illustration that could be used for a special edition publication of the script.
The story revolves around the device of an authors head being kept alive in a cryogenic vessel by a dubious corporation. I wanted to try and reflect the plot but not make any reference to the production design of the TV show.
I was inspired by Japanese bio-morphic architecture and a half-remembered/imagined documentary about the TV series that may or may not have talked about organic self-building architecture.
With that in place I decided on the notion of putting the buildings on the lid of a jar containing a frozen head that was connected to the building via a cable, thus literally joining the two aspects of the story.
